As for the Expats, you will have to learn to swim in the current cilmbate. You should have saved some of the money from the cheap living you enjoyed over the years, I suppose you are looking for a hand out along with the Fat cats of industry and finance as well. My heart bleeds for you, (NOT)

We as a nation within the EEC must join the single currency ( Euro ). As an ordinary working man it matters not one jot as to what I'm paid in as long as it canpay my bills etc, as an Englishman it will mean that my country is playing on a level playing field in trade with it's trading partners also I won't have the hassle of exchange rates when on holiday in Europe. The fat cats who gamble with the country's wealth i.e. trading the pound against other currencies, will have that privilage removed, (they may even have to work for a change). Maybe just maybe we won't be treated as a second rate nation in Europe and control freak Brown will have a little less control and England can fight it's way out of this situation he got us in.

There was much in the papers yesterday about foreign holidays getting more expensive but what about us expats living in the euro zone and finding our pensions have been cut by 25% in the last few years. On top of that what little savings we have is earning us very little extra.
