Analysis of Variance

Analysis of variance is a collection of statistical models which seek to evaluate the extent of variance within different groups.

For example when looking at income distribution within society, the analysis can be split up into different sectors such as racial groups. If there appear to be close correlations of income distribution within ethnic groups then we say that the statistical distribution is worth splitting up into these sub groups.
